2026 Rates Notices have been sent out by post for hard copy and email for e-Rates, bringing many opportunities to win in the Shire's four Early Bird Rates Draws for this year.
The Early Bird Rates Draw program rewards ratepayers who pay their annual rates in full and on time; pay in full by one of the four September due dates and you'll be automatically entered into every draw after that date - get in early for more chances to win!
No additional sign-up is needed, and property owners who pay in full by direct debit are also included automatically.
Each Draw is run by a Councillor, with the assistance of volunteer community members, in the reception area at the Shire Administration building for four Fridays in a row – September 4, 11, 18, and 25. Seven prizes are awarded at the first three Draws, with a huge 12 prizes up for grabs at the final Draw. Prizes are allocated via a random generator operated by the volunteer community member – come on down at 9am on those days if you’d like to be part of the action! The Draws are recorded and shared on the Shire Facebook page, so everyone can check in and see if they won.
Generous 2026 Sponsors Drake Brockman, Bay of Isles Leisure Centre, GT Auditing, RAC, Esperance Communications, Lucky Bay Brewing and Pagoda Resort & Spa have contributed amazing cash prizes ranging from $200 to $2,500, as well as vouchers up to the value of $1,200. Council allocates $12,500 towards the program each year, bringing the total worth to over $22,000. Council and the Shire greatly appreciate the support of our local and regional businesses, and are proud to offer a program highlighting both their commitment to the community and the diverse range of services they provide.
Paying your Rates early doesn’t just mean you’re eligible for the Early Bird Rates Draw - it makes a real difference in our region. It helps the Shire maintain a healthy cash flow, reduces administrative costs and provides greater certainty as staff plan and deliver essential services. In turn, the community benefits through the timely provision of services, ongoing infrastructure improvements and the efficient use of public funds.
