Water Safety Week – Week 8

Monday 8 June – Saturday 13 June

In Week 8, we will be holding Water Safety Week during regular swimming lessons.

Throughout the week, students will participate in important water safety activities, including:

  • Safe water entries
  • Treading water
  • Signalling for help
  • Basic rescue techniques
  • Emergency response (D.R.S.A.B.C.D)
  • Swimming while clothed

These skills are designed to build confidence and prepare students for real-life water safety situations.

Clothing Requirements

As part of the program, students will be asked to wear clothing over their bathers.

  • Infants: T-shirt
  • Pre-schoolers: Pyjamas or shorts and T-shirt
  • Stage 1–8: Shorts and T-shirt
  • Stage 9–13: Long pants and long sleeve top
  • Stage 14–15: Long pants, long sleeve top, and clean shoes
  • Adults: Long pants and long sleeve top

Please avoid denim or excessively dirty clothing.

  • During the week, students will also learn emergency whistle signals, helping them understand how to respond in an emergency situation.

Your support helps us create confident, capable, and safe swimmers.
