The Wylie Bay Waste Management Facility (WBWMF) can accept commercial volumes and Construction & Demolition (C&D) waste and is licenced to accept Special Waste Type 1 Asbestos. However, due to the increasing pressure on the WBWMF, we would like to remind our commercial customers that there is a set process to follow when disposing of loads over 6 cubic meters and any volume of Special Waste (Asbestos, Clinical or Biosecurity). Please complete the below enquiry form, wait for approval from the Shire, and then schedule the date and time to attend the WBWMF.
Please note these requests can take up to 10 working days to process, and requests are only approved dependent on the capacity at the WBWMF. Please do not attend the site until you have received approval from the Shire.
For commercial Asbestos quantities over 10 square metres from one job site removal and disposal must be undertaken by a licenced operator. Once you have received approval from the below enquiry form a minimum of 24hrs notice is required when booking a disposal with WBWMF.
C&D waste customers will have to sign a declaration on entry to verify that the waste in their load does not contain asbestos or other hazardous materials, unless otherwise previously arranged through this waste enquiry form to dispose of these materials.
Please note asbestos, hazardous materials and problematic waste including weeds need to be declared in this enquiry.
The customer acknowledges that the delivery and dumping of undisclosed hazardous or problematic materials, such as materials containing asbestos, poses a serious health risk to the Wyle Bay Facility workers.
The customer agrees to accept full liability for all costs incurred by the Shire of Esperance for any testing, clean-up and disposal of hazardous waste.
If the waste involves renovation or demolition works, a hazardous risk assessment report will be required and must comply with the Health (Asbestos) Regulations 1992.
