A new set of example architectural plans is now available on the Shire website to help applicants prepare Building Applications, clearly outlining the required standard of plans. These are now on the Shire’s Building Information Sheets webpage.
These examples demonstrate minimum key details required in an application, such as scaled site plans, floor plans and elevations, helping applicants understand the level of detail expected.
The new guides have been created to assist anyone planning a new home, shed, patio, renovation or other development. By following the Shire’s standard plan requirements, applicants can prepare submissions with sufficient detail to support a Planning Application.
Building Applications require the full set of architectural plans as well as additional relevant technical documentation prepared by suitably qualified professionals, such as a Structural Engineer, Geotechnical Engineer, or BAL Assessor
Submitting quality documentation prevents delays and helps Development Services staff assess proposals more efficiently under statutory assessment frameworks.
Applicants are encouraged to review these examples, and are welcome to speak with Shire staff before lodging an application. Using the standard plan guide helps streamline the process and provides confidence that plans meet the minimum requirements from the start.
