Library Farewell Afternoon Tea

For more than 50 years, the Windich Street Library building has been woven into our community’s memories and stories. Before the Library relocates to its temporary home at the Noel White Centre, everyone is invited to a special afternoon tea celebrating the building's history and the many people who have walked through its doors.

Join us on Friday 4 September between 2pm and 5pm to take a trip down memory lane with a historic slideshow and the chance to mark the occasion by creating a personalised library tote bag. There will also be a guest book to leave a message in, plenty of photo opportunities, afternoon tea and bargains to be found at the Esperance Library Friends book sale in the foyer.

From its early beginnings in 1897 with fewer than 400 books to today's collection of more than 25,000 items, Esperance’s Library has long been a place of learning, discovery and connection for the community.

As we prepare to turn the page to an exciting new chapter, we invite you to come along, celebrate the past and share your memories of this much-loved community space. All are welcome and we look forward to seeing you there.
