A new accessible BBQ has been installed on the Esperance Foreshore near the Whale Tail, offering an inclusive and scenic space for the community to gather and enjoy.

With both accessibility and safety in mind, the award-winning design of the Christie BBQ features two cooktops and allows easy use for people in wheelchairs, while keeping hot surfaces out of reach of small children. It also includes a safety zone around the raised cooktop to reduce heat transfer to surrounding surfaces, rounded corners to help prevent injury, and the all-stainless-steel construction provides strong corrosion resistance in our beautiful coastal environment.

The upgrade replaces an old BBQ that had reached the end of its life and supports Council Plan Objectives focused on universal access and inclusion across Shire services, ensuring community facilities are welcoming and accessible for all.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Esperance Bay, the new BBQ provides a perfect spot for relaxed meals with family and friends. Head down, fire it up and enjoy this fantastic new addition to the Foreshore!
