Philippe VILLA- Romantic and Contemporary Guitar

Philippe VILLA is considered one of the most brilliant French guitarists of his generation. He is a specialist of the Romantic repertory and plays Historic or modern instruments.

He builds on new experiences such as combining the guitar with traditional instruments, improvisations, or Chamber Music. He founded the “Cantiga guitar Duo” in 2014 with Anastasia Maximkina.Together they created various  chamber groups ,including strings,voice,bandoneon and dance.

He has appeared as a guest in various international festivals (Vienna, Milan,Fiuggi,Cremona London,Bath, Esztergom,Petersburg Voronezh, Istanbul, Bangkok, Bienne, Debrecen, Bratislava,Brno,Hersbruck,Stuttgart), and his recordings and concerts are recognized by critics as being “an original talent,” “a musical jubilation,” and “of a rare elegance.”

He is the first guitarist to record Napoléon Coste “Lacôte Guitar” and Berlioz “Grobert” guitar.

Well appreciated as teacher, he has been invited in prestigious academies: “Chopin” in Warsaw, Voronezh, the Vienna Forum, Krakow Academy, Moscow Institute, Columbia University (NY)…

He served as member of the jury for international competitions (Parma, Vienna, Rust, Fiuggi,Trossingen,Essen…) and founded the International Guitar Festival of the Island of Ré in 1998. In 2006 he also founded the St-Michel en l’Herm guitar Festival. In 2014 he founded the First International Academy:”Guitar and Strings” in Bitche.

He won the Paganini – Taranto – Pujol - Milan international competitions, and obtained the “Yehudi Menuhin” Foundation Award. In addition he received the Gold Medal from city of Paris, he is also Gold winner of International Bordeaux Festival.In 2022 he was awarded from the Concert artist prize from the Fiuggi international guitar festival.

He studied with Betho Davezac and Jiri Jirmal at the Musikhochschule of Sarrebruck where he obtained the “Concert Diplom” with high distinction. Currently, he is teacher at Reims Conservatory (France). He plays exclusively on “Savarez” Cantiga Strings.

Ingrid Riollot is a French guitarist of international renown possessing brilliant technique and inspirational artistry. Her emphasis on producing beautiful tone colours and mesmerising tremolo captivate audiences worldwide.

She has been privileged to perform for internationally acclaimed festivals: Madrid “Andres Segovia” International Guitar Festival (Spain), Hong-Kong International Guitar Festival, Perth Guitar Society (Australia), Montreal Guitar Society (Canada), Taranaki Concert Series (New-Zealand), Silpakorn University Bangkok (Thailand), International Guitar Festival Shenzhen (China), Culture Center Shenzhen (China), French Guitar Society, Hamilton Guitar (Canada), Suena Peru International Guitar Festival (Peru), Albania International Guitar Festival, Malaysia Kuala Lumpur-Petaling Jaya-Johor Bahru, Les 4 saisons en Charolais (France), Sydney, Katooma et Nowra (Australia), Festival des Cordes Pincees de Rabat (Morocco), Strings Attached Guitar Festival Western Australia, Nancyphonies (France), Cathedrale de Strasbourg (France), Hotel de Ville Paris 1er, International Guitar Festival Milan (Italy), Mauritius Classical Guitar Society, Rodriguez Classical Guitar Society …   

She is invited to be adjudicator of major international competitions for the guitar : Changsha International Guitar Competition (Chine), Academie Renier III (Monaco),  Albania International Guitar Competition, Superieur Music School of Dijon (France), Conservatoire de l’Ile de la Reunion (Dom Tom), Institut d’Enseignement Superieur en Europe et Mediterrannee (France), Institut Superieur d’Art de Lorraine (France), 2022 WA Classical Guitar Ensemble and Solo Festival (Australia)… 

Her appreciated masterclasses and lectures have made her a regular guest of some of the most prestigious academy around the world: Canada (Hamilton Guitar, UQAM Universite du Quebec A Montreal, Vancouver Guitar Society), New-Zealand (Taranaki Summer School), Australia (Western Australian Academy of Performing Art, Strings Attached Guitar Festival) Peru (Suena Peru Guitar Festival), France (Conservatoire Ile de la Reunion), Malaysia (Trinity London College, Rockschool), Hong-Kong (Asian Youth Summer Camp), Switzerland (Studio Kodaly), HongKong (Academy for Performing Arts), China (Changsha Guitar Festival)

The recipient of many prizes from the Lyon Conservatory of Music as well as the “Young Talent Prize” awarded by the Philharmonic Society, Ingrid received the precious teachings of Jesus Castro-Balbi, Ricardo Gallen, Marco Tamayo, Joaquin Clerch, Gerard Abiton, Alberto Ponce and David Russel…

Holder of a master’s degree in pedagogy, Ingrid taught for 20 years in Music Conservatories in France (Albertville, Nancy, L’Hay-Les-Roses, Montbeliard)  Studio Kodaly in Switzerland and Iartschool in China before devoting herself fully to her solo career since 2018.

Ingrid has recorded three solo albums: Hommage (2015), My Guitar (2021 Soundset Recordings USA) and Leyenda (2022 King Parrot Classics).

A new album with the cellist Juliette Maeder will be released in the spring 2023 by King Parrot Classics.

She is regularly interviewed and her music broadcast by radios and televisions around the world: Radio France, ABC Australia, Hope FM Australia, Top Channel Television Albania, RTR FM Perth, Mauritius Broadcast Corporation…

Since 2018, Ingrid has been based in Esperance, Western Australia.

She currently plays a Smallman Guitar. She is a member of the Silver Sands Guitar Quartet. She is “The Godmother” of the Classical Guitar Society of Mauritius. She is sponsored by Savarez Strings.
