It’s that time of year again, and Shire contractors will soon be in town carrying out asphalting works to improve our road and footpath networks.
Your patience is appreciated while works are in progress, as is your concern for all members of our community who work to keep our roads in good order for everyone to use.
We know the Esperance spirit will come out to keep everyone safe, and make sure there will be no hits or near misses in the reduced speed work areas - keep an eye out for the traffic controllers and follow their directions.
Work will start on Friday 9 May with Pink Lake Rd first off the ranks, along a stretch from the Windich St/Andrew St intersection through to Harbour Rd.
Other work sites will be:
ROADS
Pink Lake Rd, Sinclair - from Freeman St to Doug Murray Dr
Dempster St, Esperance - from Kemp St to the Norseman Rd/Dempster St/Esplanade roundabout
George St, Sinclair - from Backland St to the end of the cul de sac
Leake St, Esperance - from Padbury St to Foy St
Richmond Pl, Nulsen - from Travers Av to the end of the cul de sac
Young Place, Nulsen – to the end of both cul de sacs
FOOTPATHS
Daw Drive, Bandy Creek
Treasure Rd, Sinclair
Dempster St, Esperance
CROSS OVER
Sims St, Chadwick
Months in the planning, this year’s asphalting program is expected to use 1895 tonnes of asphalt, and as always a traffic management team will be on hand to keep everyone safe.
Access to properties will be made available via our friendly traffic controllers who will allow you access as soon as possible – give them a friendly wave as you go past!
