Public Information- Bandy Creek Bushland

The Shire advises that dirt biking and the driving of all motorised vehicles is not permitted in the Bandy Creek bushland that is bounded by Goldfields Road, Asken Turn, Thistle Avenue, Daw Drive, and the Baarndi cycling and walking trail, and also within the firebreaks in the Flinders Estate area.

This type of activity causes noise disturbance to nearby residents, degrades environmental values, as well as creates significant safety hazards for other persons in the area and for the riders themselves.

This area is not a public reserve and access to this land for this purpose is not permitted. There are no Designated Off-Road Vehicle Areas in the Esperance District and the provisions of the Control of Vehicles (Off-road Areas) Act 1978 do not apply. You may only ride or drive on property with the permission of the landowner.

The Shire encourages respectful, responsible, and safe use of reserves and land that we manage, in line with the purpose of the land. Please be aware of your legal responsibilities when driving unregistered vehicles or driving as an unlicensed person.

Some parts of this bushland are an environmental rehabilitation area as a result of the fire earlier this year. Please do not enter the fire-impacted area as any activity will hinder rehabilitation, including walking and all types of biking and vehicle use. Rehabilitation is important to reduce impacts to amenity caused by dust and noise, and helps to recover the environmental values of the area.
