Shared Path Upgrade – Milner Street to Freeman Street
The Shire is upgrading the shared path along Pink Lake Road between Milner Street and Freeman Street, Sinclair.
Works are planned to begin on or after 9 June 2026. The first stage will focus on the section between Backland Street and Freeman Street, with the section between Milner Street and Backland Street to follow.
The project includes:
- A new and improved shared path alignment
- A pedestrian refuge to support safer crossings
- Median islands on Pink Lake Road (both painted and raised)
Most construction is expected to take around six weeks, with the final red asphalt surface to be completed later in the year as part of the November asphalt program.
Pink Lake Road is a busy route used by people walking, riding and driving.
These upgrades are designed to make it safer and easier for everyone to move through the area. Clearer crossings, improved path connections and better separation from traffic all help reduce risk and support everyday use of the space.
It’s part of building a more connected and accessible Esperance.
If you use this part of Pink Lake Road, you may notice:
- Temporary changes to traffic conditions
- Construction activity and work crews
- Short-term disruptions while works are underway
Once complete, the area will offer safer and more comfortable access whether you’re walking, cycling or driving.
