Get ready, Esperance! Shire asphalt contractors are back in action starting Tuesday, 12 November, to enhance our roads and pathways. Here’s what you need to know:
Road Projects:
- Freeman St (Pink Lake Rd to Fredrick St)
- Fredrick St/Blake St (Freeman St to Ocean St)
- George St (Backland St to cul-de-sac)
- Richmond Pl (Travers Av to cul-de-sac)
- Young Pl (Both cul-de-sacs)
- Leake St (Padbury St to Foy St)
Expect minor traffic disruptions, but rest assured, the Shire’s traffic management team will minimise the impact on your daily commute.
Footpath and Cycleway Extensions:
- Daw Drive
- Bandy Creek Rd footbridge approaches
- Sand Back Pass footpath (Bandy Creek to Castletown Quays)
- Bandy Creek/Fisheries footpaths
- Bandy Creek Rd Brewery entries
We’re thrilled to complete the connections to Bandy Creek!
Additional Projects:
- Esperance Airport runway maintenance (no flight disruptions expected)
- Forrest St carpark completion
- Gibson Community Park basketball court asphalting
In total, approximately 1,320 tonnes of asphalt will be used during this run. Using the asphalting crew to complete batches of projects in this way streamlines the asphalting program and saves the Shire (and ratepayers!) money and time.
The Shire appreciates your cooperation in following traffic signs and driving safely. Remember, slowing down and enjoying the ride is the best way to go!
