The 2025 MARKYT Community Scorecard has now closed.
Thank you to everyone from across the district who took the time to share feedback, ideas and priorities for the future of our communities.
From Esperance townsite to our smaller regional communities and rural areas, every response helps the Shire better understand what matters most to the people who live here.
The Community Scorecard is one of the ways the Shire of Esperance listens to the community and tracks how local priorities, challenges and satisfaction levels change over time.

What Happens Next
The Community Scorecard helps inform future Council priorities, the Council Plan, projects and advocacy efforts across the district.
The findings are used alongside community engagement, operational planning, long-term financial planning and Council decision-making to help ensure resources are directed where they are needed most.
The Shire will continue to report back to the community through project updates, Council planning, and community engagement opportunities.
Looking Ahead
The next Community Scorecard will open in 2027.
The Shire encourages residents from across the district to continue having their say and helping shape the future of our communities.
In the meantime, there are still plenty of ways to stay informed and get involved in local projects, plans and initiatives.

What is the Community Scorecard?
The Community Scorecard is a community survey run by the Shire of Esperance to better understand how residents across the district feel about local services, facilities, projects and priorities.
The results help Council make informed decisions and plan for the future of the region.
Who completed the Esperance Community Scorecard?
Residents aged 14 years and older from across the Shire of Esperance were invited to participate, including people living in Esperance townsite, smaller communities and rural areas throughout the district.
The Shire encourages broad community participation to help ensure the results reflect the experiences and priorities of the wider region.
How does the Shire use Community Scorecard results?
The Shire uses the results in the Council Plan and to guide planning, budgeting, advocacy and service improvements across the district.
The feedback helps identify community priorities, track changes over time and support future projects, funding applications and long-term planning for local communities.

The Shire use CATALYSE® to manage the survey. CATALYSE® Pty Ltd, an independent research company, undertake these studies on behalf of the Shire. All results are dealt with in the strictest confidence. When reporting results, CATALYSE® only presents aggregated data and anonymous comments.
