Adopted Local Laws

Pursuant to Section 3.12 of the Local Government Act 1995, the Shire of Esperance has resolved to adopt the following local laws.

Bush Fire Brigades Local Law 2025

The purpose of the Bush Fire Brigades Local Law 2025 is to provide information about the forming, running and operations of a bush fire brigade in the Shire of Esperance.

The effect of the Bush Fire Brigades Local Law 2025 is to ensure adequate preparedness of bush fire brigades to respond to emergency situations as they arise.

 

Parking & Parking Facilities Local Law 2025

The purpose of this local law is to provide for the management and regulation of parking within the district.

The effect of this local law is to manage parking throughout the district to ensure safe, fair and equitable use and access of parking facilities under the care and management of the local government.

 

Activities in Thoroughfares and Public Places and Trading Local Law 2025

The purpose of the Activities in Thoroughfares and Public Places and Trading Local Law is to provide control on activities within the public domain.

The effect of this Local Law is to acknowledge that some activities are prohibited, and some activities are permitted only under permit on thoroughfares and public places. This will provide consistency throughout the Shire of Esperance.

 

Copies of these Local Laws can be obtained from the Shire of Esperance Administration Office, Windich Street Esperance, between the hours of 8.30am and 4.45pm, Monday to Friday, or from the Shire of Esperance website here.

These local laws were gazetted on 5 January 2026 and will come into operation on 19 January 2026.
