A Harvest & Vehicle Movement Ban will be in place for ALL ZONES within the Shire of Esperance on the following days;
- Christmas Day – 12.01am Thursday, 25 December - till further notice.
- New Year’s Day – 12.01am Thursday, 1 January 2026 - 9am Friday, 2 January 2026.
The Wylie Bay Waste Facility will be closed during these times.
The following activities are not permitted during the Harvest & Vehicle Movement Ban period;
- Any off-road activity is banned (driving cars, ATV’s or motorbikes), unless it is for agricultural purposes or work being conducted by business, industry, and public authorities. All it takes is one spark on a bush track
- Harvesting
- Operating drill rigs/machinery
- Clearing vegetation
- Slashing road verges
- Lawn mowing services by businesses or local governments.
Depending on incoming weather conditions, this Ban can be reviewed at any time.
What if a Total Fire Ban is declared for the Shire of Esperance on any of the mentioned days? In this case, the Harvest & Vehicle Movement Ban will continue along with any other Total Fire Ban conditions.
