The CEO is the most senior officer within the Shire and is therefore responsible for the day-to-day management of the operations and the implementation of Council policies. The Executive Services Department comprises the following key operational areas:

  • Council Liaison
  • Organisation Management

On 3 February 2021 the State Government commenced standards for the recruitment, selection, performance review and termination of Local Government CEOs, via the Local Government (Administration) Amendment Regulations 2021 (CEO Standards).

The Shire's Model Standards for CEO Recruitment, Performance and Termination were adopted at the April 2021 Ordinary Council Meeting and can be viewed here.
