PARTIll PREVENTION OF BUSH FIRES


SECTION 17 — EXTENSION OF PROHIBITED BURNING TIME (URBAN-RURAL ZONE)


Pursuant to Section 17 Bush Fires Act 1954 the Shire of Esperance advises it will be extending its Prohibited Burning Time (PBT)for the following zone and timeframe;

Prohibited Burning will be extended by thirty-three (33) calendar days for the Urban-Rural Zone to now conclude midnight Monday, 1 April 2024.

(The Urban-Rural Zone includes fire zones: Urban-Rural - Esperance town & surrounding rural residential areas)

This is due to dry seasonal conditions and means;

NO fires are to be lit in the open air during this period, and
NO fire permits will be issued by Fire Control Officers.

This decision will be reviewed prior to the date advised above, having regard for the seasonal conditions applicable at that time.
