Local Emergency Management Committee

The Shire of Esperance has established a Local Emergency Management Committee (LEMC) under section 38(1) of the Emergency Management Act 2005 to oversee, plan and test the local emergency management arrangements.

More information about the LEMC and the role it takes within Emergency Management is available on the Office of Emergency Management website.

Meeting Schedule

Esperance LEMC meets four times per year on the second Wednesday of February, May, August and November at 2pm at the Shire of Esperance Council Chambers on Windich Street.

Local Emergency Management Arrangements (LEMA)

LEMAs are developed to provide a community focused, coordinated approach to the management of all potential emergencies within a local government area.

These arrangements have been produced and issued under the authority of Section 41 of the Emergency Management Act 2005, endorsed by the Shire of Esperance Local Emergency Management Committee (LEMC) and has been tabled with the Goldfields District Emergency Management Committee (DEMC).

A copy of the LEMA is available from the Shire of Esperance Administration Building on Windich Street or by downloading from the link below.
