RESTRICTED BURNING TIME (POSTPONED)

BUSH FIRES ACT 1954
PART III PREVENTION OF BUSH FIRES
SECTION 18 - RESTRICTED BURNING TIME (POSTPONED)

Pursuant to Section 18 Bush Fires Act 1954 the Shire of Esperance advises due to seasonal conditions it will postpone the commencement of the Restricted Burning Time.

Restricted Burning Time will commence on Saturday, 1 October 2022 for all Zones.

Please note: the Shire of Esperance encourages landowner/occupiers carrying out any burning off activities on their land, to please log their activities by calling DFES Communications on Ph: 08 9395 9209. This will assist with volunteer resources unnecessarily responding to private burns, mistaken as a reported fire.

Committees and Working Groups

The Shire of Esperance welcomes expressions of interest for our Council Committees and Working Groups.

For further information and Terms of Reference for these groups please visit the Shire’s website.

Expressions may be emailed to shire@esperance.wa.gov.au, posted to PO Box 507 Esperance or dropped into the Administration Building.

Proposed New Local Law

Pursuant to Section 3.12 of the Local Government Act 1995, the Shire of Esperance proposes to make the Cat Local Law 2022.

The purpose of the Cat Local Law 2022 is to provide benefit to the district by enabling greater regulation and control of cats

The effect of the Cat Local Law 2022 is to extend the control over cats which exist under the Cat Act 2011.

Copies of this Local Law can be obtained from the Shire of Esperance Administration Office, Windich Street Esperance, between the hours of 8:30am and 4:45pm, Monday to Friday, or can alternatively be viewed here.

Submissions about the proposed local law may be made to the Chief Executive Officer, Shire of Esperance, PO Box 507, Esperance WA 6450 by 4:00pm Saturday, 22 October 2022.

Long Term Financial Plan

Council adopted the reviewed Shire of Esperance Long Term Financial Plan 2022/23 – 2031/2032 at the June Ordinary Council meeting. A copy of the reviewed plan is available here.

Disposal of Property

In accordance with Section 3.58 of the Local Government Act 1995, the Shire of Esperance gives public notice of its intention to lease the following properties;

Term – 5 years

Consideration – $11,120.87 pa (Inc GST)

Market Value – $11,120.87 pa (Inc GST) as determined by Council Res # O0922-207

Old Salmon Gums School

Museum Village

The Shire of Esperance invites expressions of interest to lease the Old Salmon Gums School in the Museum Village, for up to 5 years.

The outlet shall promote local and regional arts and crafts, local produce and/or tourism retail.
