Closure of a portion of Bostock Street adjoining lot 10 (12) Bostock Street, West Beach 

Notice is hereby given that Council has initiated the road closure process for a portion of the Bostock Street Road Reserve where it adjoins Lot 10 (12) Bostock Street, West Beach. See Bostock Street Road Resumption.

The reason for pursuing the closure of a portion of the Road Reserve is due to construction activities having been undertaken by the owner of Lot 10 (12) Bostock Street, West Beach that extend into the road reserve. As the portion of Bostock Street affected by the Construction Activities relates to an unconstructed and undesired T intersection which the Shire of Esperance has no intentions to extend, it is the position of the Shire of Esperance that the impacted section of road reserve can be closed with little or no impact on adjoining landowners or road users.

As per the provisions of Section 58 of the Land Administration Act 1997, this proposal is currently being advertised for public comment.

Submissions on the proposal (in writing indicating support or objection to the proposal, including reasons for objection) may be lodged with the Shire of Esperance on or before closure of business on 18 May 2021.

Notice is hereby given that the sum of $3,221.15 has been owing to the Shire of Esperance for a period of 3 years for rates in respect of the land described below and unless payment is made of the sum of $17,121.63 within 3 months from the date of this notice the local government will, pursuant to section 6.64 of the Local Government Act 1995 (WA), offer the land for sale by public auction at a time and place appointed by the local government.

Local Heritage Survey

The original 1996 Shire of Esperance Municipal Heritage Inventory - a record of local post European settlement historic sites - has recently been updated as required under the Heritage Act 2018 to form the draft 2021 “Local Heritage Survey”.

Hard copies of the 700 + page draft Local Heritage Survey are available for viewing at the Esperance Museum, the Esperance Public Library and at the Shire of Esperance Planning Services counter. The complete Local Heritage Survey is also freely available in PDF form on the Shire of Esperance website at:

Public comments on the updated Local Heritage Survey are welcomed and may be submitted to the Chief Executive Officer in writing (fax or email submission is acceptable) on or before close of business on 26 March 2021.
