Every Club Bonanza

Did you know that our Community Development staff help local community and sporting organisations source, understand and apply for grants?

So they really know what they’re doing – and they’ve just landed a grant from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries themselves - congrats!

The Every Club Grant Scheme aims to ensure sport and recreation clubs are supported to build their organisational capacity and capability through accessible and flexible club development services, and the Shire has just secured $20,000 a year for the next three years. The Community Development team will use the funds to provide training and support in governance, planning and management practices of local clubs, hope to develop the wonderfully named ‘Sportal’ portal - an online one stop shop for all the resources and guides our clubs may need.

First cab off the ranks with training for local clubs was the Social Media Workshop For Clubs at the Civic Centre last week, providing an overview of social media platforms, showing how clubs can use and social media, how to set up club pages, and how to review security settings.
