The Annual Report for 2020/2021, including Financial Statements, was accepted at the December 2021 Ordinary Council Meeting.
The Report highlights a number of achievements and challenges faced by the Shire throughout the Financial Year. Projects worked on included the James Street Cultural Precinct, proposed Dog Park, Urban Node Trial, Mountain Bike Masterplan, Trails Masterplan, Local Government Ward Review, the Pink Lake Corridor Shared Path, and of course there was the completion of the Jetty Replacement Project.
The Annual Report is available to download here, and hard copies can be requested from the Shire Administration Building or viewed at the Library on Windich Street.
Following the acceptance of the Annual Report, Council resolved to convene the Annual Electors Meeting for 7pm Tuesday 8 February at the Esperance Civic Centre.
All community members are encouraged to attend the meeting and read the Annual Report. An Annual Electors Meeting must be held each financial year after the local government accepts the Annual Report. This is a great opportunity for residents and ratepayers to come along, take part in their Local Government processes, question the Annual Report 2020/2021, query general business and to raise motions to Council for discussion at subsequent meetings.
This meeting is held in a similar manner to an Ordinary Council Meeting and is minuted, but its purpose is to discuss the contents of the Annual Report for the previous financial year, followed by any other general business.
