FREE Drive-Through Drop Off for your unwanted household chemicals and hazardous materials.
There are a number of hazardous items in your home, which must not go in your kerbside collection bins. Safely dispose of paint, pesticides, herbicides and poisons, pool chemicals, household and garden chemicals, flammable liquids, gas bottles, fluorescent tubes, household batteries and more for free on Saturday, 21 November 2020, between 9:00am and 1:00pm at the Esperance Civic Centre Rear Carpark (entry via Council Place).
What can be disposed of at the event?
• Acids and alkalis
• Aerosols
• Batteries (household)
• Engine coolants and glycols
• Fire extinguishers - Non halon (red) only
• Flammables
• Flares
• Fluorescent lamps and tubes (CFLs)
• Gas cylinders (small household)
• Household chemicals (e.g. cleaners)
• Paint
• Pesticides/herbicides
• Poisons/toxics
• Pool chemicals
• Smoke detectors
• Unknown chemicals must be in sealed, chemical resistant containers.
Limit 20kg or litres per material type. Only domestic waste will be accepted (no commercial, business or farm waste).
This event is open to residents of any Local Government, you do not have to live in the Shire of Esperance to drop off your household hazardous waste.
Members of the public are asked to remain in their vehicles for the entire visit to the facility. Staff, wearing the necessary PPE, will remove the waste from the vehicle. All other government COVID-19 protocols will be adhered to.
