The Library was visited by school children from the Mallee schools as part of the Mallee Swim Camp week.

Students from pre-primary to Year 6 participated in Library and space themed activities during the day. Junior students had a chance to be a librarian using our “Imagination Library”, as well as making and launching paper rockets, forming craters in moon dough and viewing stories read by International Space Station astronauts.

Senior students had a chance to build fantastic space crafts and alien landscapes out of Lego thanks to a partnership with Escare’s “Brickclub” program.

All students were able to play games using the Library’s Sphero robots, make music using Makey Makey, program some Ozobots or view the solar system through augmented reality using a Merge Cube. The games were created by Our Lady Star of the Sea students for a project at school and then kindly donated to the Library for use.
