You can be involved in #shoWcAse IN PIXELS - one of the state’s largest community arts projects - and have a chance to win a $500 prize.
The annual exhibition of artwork from Local Governments will be displayed in a new format and venue this year – at the iconic digital tower at the heart of Yagan Square.
Traditionally, the artwork, in the form of physical banners, were hung on the poles along St Georges and Adelaide Terrace. This year, the WA Local Government Association (WALGA) has the opportunity to display digital artwork designs on the 45-metre high tower at Yagan Square, which features a circular screen with 14 columns, representing the 14 Noongar language groups. The display dates are Monday the 29th of July until Sunday the 11th of August.
This is an opportunity to showcase our beautiful region and our local talent to the thousands of people visiting the Perth Central Business District.
As the completion is now wholly-digital - the medium and canvas you choose is up to your imagination.
Individuals, schools, community groups and professional artists within the Shire of Esperance are invited to submit digital designs for the 2019 competition.
Councillors will vote for the best local design to be submitted into the WALGA #shoWcAse IN PIXELS competition.
A prize of a $500 voucher from a local business of your choice will be awarded to the winner.
So get out your brushes, fire up the computer or clean the lens of your camera and get creative!
