Esperance Bushfire brigades, Department of Fire and Emergency Services and Parks and Wildlife Services Firefighters are responding to numerous bushfires in the region and are experiencing extreme fire behavior due to high temperatures and variable winds.

A multi-agency incident management team has been established in Esperance to manage the bushfires in partnership with local brigades.

Water bombers are assisting crews on ground at the Cape Le Grand fire and the Watch and Act remains in place. Cape Le Grand Road, Dunns Road, Wylie Beach access, Hellfire Bay Road and Coastal Walk Trail between Le Grand Beach and Hellfire Bay are closed. Cape Le Grand National Park is closed.

Crews are still working to strengthen containment lines at Parmango Road and Parmango Road is closed.

The Kumarl fire (near Lake King Norseman Road) is being tracked and crews are working to strengthen containment lines. Crews are also working on the fire north of Frank Hann National Park. Lake King-Norseman Road between Cascade Road and the Coolgardie-Esperance Hwy and Kumarl-Lake King Road between the Coolgardie-Esperance Hwy and Lake King-Norseman Road remain closed and there is no access to Peak Charles National Park.
