The Annual Report for 2018-2019 was accepted last night at the December Ordinary Council Meeting. The Report highlights a number of achievements and challenges faced by the Shire throughout the Financial Year. Some projects included the work at Lake Monjingup Nature Reserve, commencement of the Indoor Sports Stadium Construction and completion of the Community Perception Survey.
The Annual Report is available to download here, viewed below and hard copies can be requested from the Shire Administration Building or viewed at the Library on Windich Street.
Following the acceptance of the Annual Report, Council resolved to convene the Annual Electors Meeting for 7pm Tuesday 4 February at the Esperance Civic Centre. All community members are encouraged to attend the meeting and read the Annual Report. An Annual Electors Meeting must be held each financial year after the local government accepts the Annual Report. This is a great opportunity for residents and ratepayers to come along to ask questions and hear the facts about decisions being made for the community.
This meeting is held in a similar manner to an Ordinary Council Meeting and is minuted, but its purpose is to discuss the contents of the Annual Report for the previous financial year and then followed by any other general business.
