The Lake Monjingup Reserve Bushfire recovery works have been continuing thanks to extra grant funding received through State NRM. The funding has enabled new interpretive signage to be placed on walk trails within the reserve and some of the trails have been upgraded to improve erosion control. The high quality signs provide up to date information about the Lake Monjingup plants and animals and are a great way to educate people using the area.

The recent rains have raised water levels in the lake and delayed plans to rebuild the boardwalk this Autumn. The Shire is working towards completing the replacement boardwalk through the paperbark forest surrounding the lake this year. The replacement Environment Centre and new toilet facilities are also planned for 2017.
