Shire of Esperance Council and directors visited the Esperance Waterfront Project site last week to see first hand the progress of work on the foreshore.

Sime Building and Construction Site Manager Steven Sime and Shire of Esperance Project Manager Alun Hughes guided Council around the project site.

Council was shown the retaining walls that are being tiled and the foundations of the next retaining wall to be built. Council visited the Andrew Street beach steps and seating area, and saw the preliminary concrete works to one of the beach access ramps.

Councillors and Directors then walked north along the Waterfront, taking in the lower section of sea wall, on their way to the headland.

At the headland Council was able to see walking paths under construction, example sections of the final surfaces that will be used on various areas of the headland and the concrete planks that will represent the initial 80 metres of decayed jetty that was removed.
