IGO COVID-19 Recovery Fund
In March 2020, resources company IGO Ltd donated $150,000 toward the COVID Recovery Plan, ensuring continued economic and community support during the challenges of the COVID pandemic.
Two years into the pandemic, and we are only now experiencing the effects of COVID locally. The funding has provided a subtle but constant overall boost to our community, with many organisations and businesses taking advantage of the support available.
With approx. $25,000 available in the fund we are encouraging local businesses and community groups to apply.
Who can apply?
Any local groups who have initiatives, programs or events that assist Esperance communities* in their COVID-19 recovery, or to strategically prepare for any future lockdowns or changes to business.
e.g. community fun day, business support program.
*Condingup, Gibson, Salmon Gums, Grass Patch, Cascade, Dalyup, Esperance
How do you apply?
Email your proposal and any supporting documents to mel.ammon@esperance.wa.gov.au and we will be in touch for further information and a potential presentation to Council.
All funding applications will be considered by Council.

- MINUTES OF LOCAL RECOVERY COMMITTEE MEETINGS
In March of 2020 the COVID-19 Community Recovery Plan was endorsed by the Esperance Council and the Esperance Local Recovery Committee, Economic Sub Committee and Community Support Sub Committee were established. The purpose of the committees were to regularly review the economic and community climate within the whole shire during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The sub committees meet monthly to review the situation within the community and see where assistance can be directed. This includes equipping our aged care services with COVID-safe gear, supporting community groups, local business and services.
The Local Recovery Committee, and Sub Committees, were disbanded following the 2021 Council Elections.
