Everyone is welcome to embrace the Winter at our FREE Winter Wonderland Event. 

Get down to our freezing fete at the Civic Centre to enjoy an outside snow pit, snow slide, inflatables and snow storms.

Food vendors and other market stalls will also be outside, and some market stalls will be set up in the auditorium, with free entertainment on the big stage..

There will be warm areas inside the Civic Centre foyer, a change rooms to get littlies into dry clothes, and areas to relax and warm up with hot food.

So much going on! For those with kids – block the whole day out for an unbelievable free event!

The Shire is thrilled to bring this arctic event to the community of Esperance, and hope it will provide a unique and exciting experience they will remember for years to come.

Do I need to book?

The Snow Pit experience is limited to 24 people per 10 minute session. Come along on the day and pop your name down for a time that works for you.

There are no other activities that require booking.

What Should I Bring?

The Snow Pit, Snow Slide and Inflatables are very cold and will possibly be wet. Please dress appropriately and consider bringing a change of clothes, change areas will be available.

To reduce waste, we are encouraging you to bring along re-usable containers and cutlery for your drinks and food. Keep an eye for our treasure hunt to win some waste-reducing goodies!

Money. Whilst our activities are free, bring along some money for some delicious food and market goodies.

Beanbags, oodies and what ever else you wish to make your winter movie experience comfortable.

Happy Feet  (Rated G)  10:30am - 12:15pm

In frozen Antarctica, where penguins sing to woo a mate, Mumble's talent is dancing: When his fellow penguins start to croon, Mumble's feet want to move. Even worse, Gloria (voiced by Brittany Murphy), the object of Mumble's affection, only wants to hear a song from Mumble's heart. Small Foot (Rated PG) 1 pm - 2:30 pm

High up on a mountain peak surrounded by clouds, a secret Yeti society lives in peace and harmony. One day, a Yeti witnesses an airplane crash; Inside lies "Smallfoot", a legendary creature that will rock the society to its core.

Cool Runnings (Rated G)  3:30pm - 5:10pm

Four Jamaican bobsleighers dream of competing in the Winter Olympics, despite never having seen snow. With the help of a disgraced former champion desperate to redeem himself, the Jamaicans set out to become worthy of Olympic selection, and go all out for glory

The Huntsman Winters War (Rated M) 6pm - 8pm

Betrayed by her evil sister Ravenna (Charlize Theron), heartbroken Freya (Emily Blunt) retreats to a northern kingdom to raise an army of huntsmen as her protectors. Gifted with the ability to freeze her enemies in ice, Freya teaches her young soldiers to never fall in love. When Eric (Chris Hemsworth) and fellow warrior Sara defy this rule, the angry queen does whatever she can to stop them. As war between the siblings escalates, Eric and Sara try to end Ravenna's wicked reign.
