Ride the Express to the Past
Past Event
Have you read the news… from 1982? Or 1973, 1997 or 2006?
The Esperance Museum has boxes of old Esperance Express newspapers that are no longer needed. Dating as far back as the 1970s, the Esperance Express was a feature in town until 2020.
After a lengthy sorting and cataloguing program, Museum volunteers have compiled a set of newspapers for our archives – with a huge number of duplicated newspapers left over. Before they hit the recycle bin we’re giving our community the chance to have a browse, check out the old news and take a newspaper or two home.
If you’ve been searching for your photo in the paper, or wondering what was going on the year you were born – this is the event for you. You’re invited to come along, browse the newspapers and take any of interest!
Museum staff and volunteers are looking forward to seeing you between 10am and 4pm, Thursday 3 October till Saturday 5 October, at the Noel White Function room at the Greater Sports Ground, best entry off Black St.
