Look out for all things French on the weekend of 14-15 July as we celebrate France's national holiday and our French connections.
It is a particularly special year this year as we celebrate our 30th Anniversary of our Twin Towns relationship with the Île de Ré region.
Saturday 14 July is Bastille Day and celebrations kick off with the inagrural Tour De Esperance Circuit Race on Saturday. The races will take place in the centre of town between 3pm and 5pm. You are invited to attend a French Film Night at the Bijou Theatre. “Marguerite” (with subtitles) will be showing, starring Catherine Frot and based on the true story of Florence Foster Jenkins.
Doors open at 6pm with cheese, wine and French-themed entertainment before the film which starts at 7pm.
Tickets are $20 and include a glass of wine, cheese tasters and the French movie.
Tickets are on sale at the Esperance Public Library (cash sales only).
On Sunday 16 July head along to the Esperance Markets in the Museum Village from 8.30am to 12.30pm and see the the French flair in the market stalls and sample some cheese.
Enjoy stalls celebrating our French connection, find out more about our Twin Towns Committee and student exchange program and watch the presentations of the Esperance Cycling Club’s Tour de Esperance at approximately 11am.
