Special Council Meeting

The Shire President has called Special Council Meeting on 15 January 2019 for Council to consider the Motions raised from the Annual Electors Meeting that was held on 17 December 2018.

Annual Electors Meeting

All community members are encouraged to attend and provide comments on the Annual Report.

Please be advised the 2017-2018 Annual Report is available on the Shire Website and hard copies are also available in the Administration Building and Library on Windich Street.

Ordinary Council Meeting

Council meet once a month, at 4pm on the fourth Tuesday for the Ordinary Council Meeting (OCM). Agendas and Minutes for these meeting can be found here.

All Council Meetings are open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to attend. It is important to remember that Council Meetings are governed by the Local Government Act 1995 and the Shire of Esperance Standing Orders Local Law 2015. These documents govern how a meeting is conducted and outline how Councillors, staff and members of the public should conduct themselves during the meeting.

Agenda Briefing

Agenda Briefing Sessions are held once a month on the third Tuesday, one week before the Ordinary Council Meeting. 

Agenda Briefing are informal and not a decision making meeting, but an opportunity for the Councillors to gather further information by asking questions and discussing the agenda items. The public are invited to attend these sessions and encouraged to attend if they have an item of interest to themselves or a group they represent. Agenda Briefings give the public a chance to discuss items with Councillors and ask or answer questions.

Annual Electors Meeting

A general meeting of electors must be held each financial year after the local government accepts the annual report.

The matters to be discussed at the general electors' meeting are firstly, the contents of the annual report for the previous financial year and then any other general business.

Special Council Meeting

A Special Council meeting of the Shire of Esperance will be held at Council Chambers on 7 November 2017 commencing at 10am to consider the matters set out in the attached agenda.
