The processing of applications is governed by compliance with Statutory Timeframes.

Under the Building Act 2011 these Statutory Timeframes are as follows:

Uncertified Building Permit 25 working days (5 weeks)
Certified Building Permit 10 working days (2 weeks)
Demolition Permit 10 working days (2 weeks)
Building Approval Certificate 10 working days (2 weeks)
Occupancy Permit 10 working days (2 weeks)
Occupancy Permit Strata 10 working days (2 weeks)
Building Approval Certificate - Strata 10 working days (2 weeks)

Before you lodge your building application, you should already have (if applicable) the following approvals in place:

  • Planning Approval
  • Apparatus for the Treatment of Sewage

One of the common hold-ups is due to insufficient documentation supplied at the lodgement of the application.

If further information is requested, this extends the statutory timeframes.
