Blessing of the Roads

Last week the Esperance Roadwise Committee hosted a Blessing of the Roads ceremony. The aim was to raise community awareness about the importance of driving safely over the Easter long weekend. The ceremony also recognised  our police, emergency services personnel and volunteers who work to provide services intended to save lives and help make our roads safer. Members of the community made a pledge towards road safety, and enjoyed hot cross buns and coffee.

It also concluded the Blow Zero Campaign. Over 800 drivers were breathalysed in the four weeks leading up to Easter, and only four returned a positive alcohol reading.
