The next important stage of the Town Centre Revitalisation Project is coming up. Focus sessions enabling the community to have their say about the Town Centre Revitalisation Draft Plan are scheduled to take place in December and January.

Deputy Shire President Victoria Brown urged the community to get involved.

"While it is easy to express concerns over elements that individuals don’t like, we really need to understand what the community likes and wants. It is also important to remember that the suggested developments are not final. The vision is provided as a guide for potential developments," Cr Brown said.

The sessions have been organised to provide a general overview of the plan and then focus separately on specific areas. General sessions have also been organised to look at the plan, as a whole. Community members are invited to attend as many sessions as they choose. All sessions will start with a brief presentation about the plan and will then be lead by questions and input from attendees.

Focus sessions will take place on the following dates: Andrew Street – December 1 at 7pm in Council Chambers, Dempster Street, Windich Street and the Esplanade – December 2 at 7pm in Council Chambers, James Street through to Forrest Street (including Museum Village) – December 3 at 7pm in Council Chambers, Tourism and Accommodation – December 4 at 1pm in Shire Chambers.

General sessions will take place on December 10 and January 28 at 1pm and at 7pm at the Civic Centre.
