The Esperance community was welcomed onto the foreshore at the weekend to explore the first section of the Waterfront Project to be completed and officially opened.

Cabinet was in Esperance for a regional cabinet meeting and joined the Esperance community for the Foreshore Fun Day, which featured family activities and stalls provided by local community groups and market stallholders. The Honourable Minister Terry Redman and the Honourable Premier Colin Barnett officially opened the James Street Precinct at 3pm.

The James Street Precinct, opposite the Esperance Museum, is a key area of the Esperance Waterfront Project. It provides easy beach access close to the town centre and hosts a plaza, at the centre of which is Esperance’s newest piece of public art, the recently installed Whale Tail sculpture.
