Shire of Esperance Council has granted community groups a total of $195,172 in Community Grants Program funding.

Shire of Esperance President Malcolm Heasman said Council enjoyed supporting community groups through the provision of grants via the new Community Grants Program which recognised the contribution of individuals within our community.

Thirteen groups will benefit from the funding including:

  • Esperance St John Ambulance - $2,600 for Ambulance door replacement
  • Esperance Community Kindergarten - $2,500 for reticulation
  • Local Environment Awareness Forum - $2,000 for a 25th year celebration event
  • Escare Inc - $2,500 for One and All Inclusion Project
  • Esperance Brass Band - $5,000 for 2014/2015 operational costs
  • Esperance Football Club - $32,372 for a facility upgrade
  • Cannery Arts Centre - $900 for fire extinguisher maintenance and $5,000 for car park maintenance (to be managed by the Shire of Esperance)
  • Esperance Soccer Association – up to $20,000 for the Little Lords Interim Facilities project
  • Gibson Football Club - $40,504 for lighting upgrades (subject to approval from Department of Sport and Recreation CSRFF fund)
  • Condingup P&C - $2,000 for 2015 Condingup Community Fair
  • Esperance Speedway - $7,500 for WASCF Inc Street Stock State Title
  • Esperance Music Festival - $2,000 for 2014 Esperance Music Festival
  • Festival of the Wind - $5,000 for 2015 Festival of the Wind (subject to acquittal of 2013/2014 grant funds).
