Last year’s free domestic waste disposal weekend at Wylie Bay Waste Facility was a popular initiative that a huge number of people took advantage of so the Shire of Esperance has decided to hold another on June 8 and 9.
Domestic waste that can be disposed of free of charge includes garden clippings, general household rubbish, old bicycles, toys, plastic products, timber, steel pipes, metal, cars, motorbikes, batteries, white goods, furniture, bricks, tiles, sand, cement and concrete building products, electrical appliances, televisions and computer equipment.
Waste is sorted onsite to maximise recycling opportunities. If waste is sorted ahead of arriving at the tip it will keep delays to a minimum.
Charges will apply for the disposal of loads larger than two cubic metres on trucks, oversized trailers and for commercial waste.
Further details are available on the Shire of Esperance website: www.esperance.wa.gov.au or from the Engineering Services Department on 9071 0637.
