As part of the Edge of the Bay celebrations, we have a jam packed day of music at the Soundshell on Saturday 2 December, featuring some amazing visiting artists and some of our most loved local acts. The lighting of the tree and the Shire President's address will be broadcast live to the Soundshell at 8pm so there is no need to give up your prime picnic spot!
Headlining the festival will be WAM's Best Blues & Roots Act 2016 winners, Old Blood! They are one of the most exciting bands to emerge on the Perth Music Scene with a unique sound that has been described as "Grunge Blues".
Also gracing the stage will be Fremantle singer songwriter, Elli Schoen who has recently been getting a fair bit of attention and airplay on Triple J. Described by Abbe May as "..not just one to watch. She is THE one to watch."
Ruby May is no stranger to Esperance having been introduced to our beautiful part of the world by the Festival of the Wind and returning many times since. At Illuminate she will be bringing her whole band so get ready to get down and get as funky as it gets!
Brayden Sibbald is a 20 year old singer/songwriter who hails from the coastal town of Dunsborough who has been gaining attention in the WA music scene and bringing his emotional Indie Pop ballads to the festival.
Local acts John Ratcliff, Rachel Vibart, Grand Casual and Firehorse have been entertaining us at various venues throughout the year and at Illuminate they will be continuing to show us how lucky we are to have such amazing homegrown talent right here in our own backyard.
Refillable water stations will be in place so make sure you bring your water container, sunscreen, picnic blanket and whatever else you need to settle in from 3pm. Please note this is an all ages, alcohol free event.
