The Recycling Collection

The Occupier must ensure that waste and recycling bins are:

* Out prior to 5am on day of scheduled collection (see calendar below)

* Kept clean and free of contaminants (non recyclables)

* Placed on street verge 0.5m from kerb with handles being placed closest to the house.

* Green and blue bins are to be placed 1m apart to ensure the truck has room to collect each bin.

* Position bins away from any over hanging obstructions and so as not to interfere with the use of roads, footpaths, cycle ways etc.

* Returned, once emptied, to their property as soon as practicable.

Also note:

* The Shire has a "3 Strikes Policy". Recycling bins containing contaminants ie; non-recyclable products will not be collected. If this occurs 3 times the recycling service is removed.  Offensive contamination such as nappies and food waste is particularly penalised as all recyclables are hand sorted in Esperance.

* Loss of bin or damage caused by occupant is the owner’s responsibility.
