The Shire of Esperance Strategic Action Plan
The Essence of Esperance Strategic Plan was the culmination of a community consultation process that commenced in late 1999 and was finalised in early 2001. The outcome was the production of the publication "Essence of Esperance", which articulated Council's aspirations as high level principles, as well as a Strategic Action Plan that sets out in detail the guiding principles and specific actions that would guide future decision making.
As part of its commitment to a living Strategic Plan, Council resolved to periodically conduct community surveys, as well as undertake an annual review of the Strategic Action Plan prior to the formulation of the annual budget each year. This document is the result of a review undertaken by a delegation of Elected Members and senior officers to reflect current issues and initiatives, as well as removing any items that had been achieved or were considered redundant as a result of changes in statutory requirements or community priorities.
