Esperance Town Centre Revitalisation

The Esperance Town Centre Revitalisation Project is a masterplanning process to revitalise the heart of Esperance, improving amenity, creating places and spaces for people and reconnecting the town centre with the proposed waterfront (foreshore) development and encouring investment within the town centre.  The needs and aspirations of the Esperance community will be explored and planning will focus on ensuring that the 'Central Heart' of Esperance is a great place to experience every day whether it be for leisure, business or entertainment. 

It is envisaged that this project in conjunction with the Waterfront development will bring about significant private sector investment in the town. This in turn will assist in the Esperance Economic Development Project that will be looking at ways to attract people and investment to Esperance moving towards developing a sustainable economy with increasing population growth.

Let's Talk About Town Summary Report

Community consultation on town centre revitalisation was conducted in two forums in Esperance on the 26^th of July 2012. Thirty three community members participated in the afternoon forum and nineteen community members participated in the evening forum, with Shire of Esperance executives and managers in attendance for both forums.

By the end of each session, participants had:

· Heard the current context;

· Identified issues in the town centre;

· Explored the current dissatisfaction and articulated expectations;

· Provided input on Shire involvement in implementation; and

· Provided input on desired changes and the priority initiatives.
