Ranger Services

The Shire of Esperance Ranger Services team hold a significant role towards making our community a better place to live. The team works closely with the local Police and are involved in the ‘Eyes on the Street’ program that reports any suspicious activity. The Ranger Services team actively educates the community on local issues and contributes towards local community events.

Rangers are responsible for dog and cat control, parking control, cattle control, litter control, illegal camping, off road vehicles, local and state law enforcement, coastal reserves patrols and maintenance and block inspections under the Bushfires Act.

Ranger Services can assist with snake capture and release and animal welfare complaints which are passed onto the RSPCA for inquiry.

Ranger Services are on duty 7 days a week, however please note that on weekends, public holidays and after hours, all calls are received by message service and jobs are attended to as required.

The Shire Pound is open to Monday to Friday from 3pm to 4pm for the release of impounded animals.
