HARVEST AND VEHICLE MOVEMENT BANS & EXTREME WEATHER FORECASTS

Harvest Ban Information HotLine

Phone 9071 5367 for up-to-date Harvesting, Machinery and Vehicle Movement Bans operating in the Shire of Esperance.

Movement of vehicles is permitted on made gazetted roads, laneways and cleared yards during a ban.

Contact the Shire of Esperance on 9071 0666 for further information on permitted activities when a ban is in operation.

Free SMS Notification

After successful trials, the Shire of Esperance has implemented a SMS notification system to notify to the wider farming community when a Harvest and Vehicle Movement Ban has been put in place; providing updates throughout the day, and advising when it has been lifted. The service also includes notification of Severe Weather Warnings as a service to place people on standby on potential bad fire days or prepare for a possible ban the following day.

As mobile phone blackspots remain within the Shire of Esperance it is envisaged that the SMS notification system will complement the existing Harvest Ban Information Hotline. The Harvest Ban Information Hotline will remain in place as this has proven to be a valuable tool in communicating Harvest Bans to the public

To receive the SMS notification, please complete the below form. Please refer to the map attached HERE when nominating your zone. It is important that you nominate your sub zone as 1 or 2 within the larger geographical zone to ensure that you receive the correct information in a timely manner, particularly as Harvest and Machinery Movement Bans can be lifted by Sub Zone.

If you own one or more property or your property straddles more than one zone or sub-zone please nominate all zones and sub zones effecting your operations.

If you require further clarification please contact the Community Emergency Services Coordinator on 9071 0625,

Downloadable forms are also available HERE and can be retuned marked attention: Community Emergency Services Coordinator, and posted to PO Box 507 Esperance WA 6450 or hand delivered to the Shire of Esperance Administration Building on Windich Street. Please note that telephone nominations cannot be accepted.
