Community Consultation

An important part of the SuperTowns initiative is to ensure the community is actively invovled with the development in all aspects of making Esperance a SuperTown.  Since the launch of the SuperTowns initiative in late 2011 a comprehensive, inclusive and targeted community engagement process has been undertaken.  Engagement has included a range of opportunities for the community and stakeholders to participate and provide input into the planning process within a collaborative envionment.

For up to date information on SuperTowns and the projects underway like the SuperTowns Esperance Facebook page.

The communities needs and aspirations informed the SuperTowns Communication Strategy as to how to effectively communicate within the Esperance Region, allowing positive and informed Business Cases and in the development of the Growth Plan.

The ‘Planning our Future: A Growth Plan for Esperance and the South East Region’ has been completed and identifies the priority actions, projects and initiatives for our town and the sub-region.  There are six guiding principles detailed within the plan that provide direction towards promoting growth, prosperity and wellbeing within our community.  These guiding principles are:

  1. Grow our Economy
  2. Strengthen our communities
  3. Create a sustainable built environment
  4. Protect and enhance our natural environment
  5. Deliver timely and efficient enabling infrastructure
  6. Innovative and proactive governance

The Growth Plan is available for your review on the Growth Plan tab.

The SuperTowns project team have released a third newsletter to keep the community informed on the progress being made on the major projects and initiatives being undertaken in Esperance.  If you would like to read about the fantastic work being achieved a copy is available here.
