Environmental Health is actively involved in a range of activities and programmes which promote healthy environments, enhancing choice for our community and creating lifestyle and sustainable development within the Shire of Esperance. Environmental Health Practitioners provide assistance and information on a wide range of services directed at the maintenance, promotion and improvement of public and environmental health. These services are grouped into the following broad program areas:
Environmental Health staff can conduct service requests for issues including mosquitoes, vermin, asbestos, fish kills, noise pollution, water pollution, air pollution and land pollution.
Environmental Health Officers are supported by a number of statutory tools including the Health Act 1911, Food Act 2008, the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and the relevant subsidiary legislation including the Shire's Local Laws.
